“No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch.”

Supplements can play a key roll in your overall fitness and health.  Do you need to take them?  No, of course not.  However, when you understand the reasons why they could be helpful, supplements can make an amazing difference in your fitness and health goals.  Here is a list of supplements in order of importance as well as Coach Jen’s personal favorites:

Vitamins & Minerals

Think of your body like a car.  In order for a car to run smoothly, the engine needs oil.  Without it, engines system won’t run.  Well vitamins are like that with our bodies.  When taking a good vitamin, it helps our body run more efficiently.   In order for your body to reach its full potential, it needs to have a solid foundation of all the essential nutrients on a daily basis.  Here is my top pick for a multi-vitamin pack

*Micro-Factor Vitamin Pack

Pack includes:

*Antioxidant:  Protects the body from damage caused by harmful molecules

*EFA: These beneficial fats are known as Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs). They are essential because your body cannot produce them on its own so they must come from your diet

*Coq10: an essential element for many daily functions and is required by every single cell in the body. As an antioxidant that protects cells from the effects of aging, CoQ10 has been used in medicine practices for decades, especially in the case of treating heart problems.

*Multi-Vitamin: Multivitamins are used to provide vitamins that are not taken in through the diet. Multivitamins are also used to treat vitamin deficiencies (lack of vitamins) caused by illness, pregnancy, poor nutrition, digestive disorders, and many other conditions.

*Fruits & Veggie:  Super blend mix giving you 11 servings of fruits and veggies.

Post Workout

Did you know that what you consume immediately after your workout is extremely important?

Taking the proper post workout supplement will improve your bodies composition, your performance AND recovery!

You need to replenish glycogen (replenish energy stores), decreases protein breakdown (increase muscle size) and increase protein synthesis (repair damage caused from your workout.

My go-to stack is 1st forms Phormula_1 and Ignition. This helps improve my recovery time, I am less sore and it helps build the lean muscle I’ve been working hard for!

Meal Replacement Protein

When you’re doing the best you can to make sure you are eating but end up missing a meal because your schedule is too busy to eat. It’s time to focus on never skipping a meal.   The next best thing would be to keep a meal replacement protein powder on hand for those days you are just too busy to get a whole food in!  I use 1st Phorms Level-1.  This protein mimics the digestion of food.
